How to: Telehealth & Phone Sessions

Telehealth Session Instructions

  1. For now, you may continue to schedule with me via your client portal. You will receive a notice that your session is scheduled for our office; however, it will be Telehealth (or phone) until further notice.
  2. We are now using Google Meet (or Google Hangouts) for our online sessions.
  3. I will send you a 'calendar invite' which will allow you to connect with me online.
  4. This invitation will always arrive before your session time (anywhere from 1+ hour before it begins).

"Google Meet" Instructions

  1. If you use a computer, you will only need to click on the session link.
  2. If you use your cell phone to connect, you will have to: Get the 'Meet' app
  • In the Play Store (Android) or App Store (Apple® iOS®), download and install the Google Meet app.
  • Tap the Google Meet app on your device to open it.
  • If before our session, you have never used Google Meet (or Google Hangouts), we can set up a 5 minute 'test' meeting to make sure that Google Meet works for you; otherwise, we may miss session time with set-up.

General Telehealth/Phone Session Details

  • All clients will receive a Telehealth/Phone therapy consent form (via your client portal). You are also welcomed to ask your therapist more about this consent form when we meet. This form will need to be signed to continue with future sessions via Telehealth.
  • For our sessions, please be located in a place that has privacy and free of distractions. (Need ideas for privacy?)
  • If you have a session copay, it will be collected (as usual) by Rachel and Kimberly (our Admin Team).
  • Because we are meeting with all clients online (or phone), we may be able to arrange for appointment times at hours that may not be typical for our in-office sessions. Feel free to let us know if this is a benefit to you.

Phone Session Instructions

  1. For now, you may continue to schedule with me via your client portal. You will receive a notice that your session is scheduled for our office; however, it will be Telehealth (or Phone) until further notice.
  2. You may utilize Google Meet if you prefer to have a phone session -  this also offers an 'audio only' option.
  3. I will send you a 'calendar invite' which will give you a special number to call at the time of our appointment.
  4. This invitation will always arrive before your session time (anywhere from 1+ hour before it begins).

Again, if you have never used Google Meet before, please let me know so we can schedule a 5 minute 'test' to make sure everything is working well; otherwise, part of our session may be focused on set-up.

Together, we will work it out and make sure we find the solution. Just in case -- Google Meet "Troubleshooting" as an additional resource to have handy.
