Individual Counseling For Anxiety

I have a special interest in treating the following Anxiety Disorders:

  • Generalized Anxiety
  • Panic
  • Social Anxiety
  • Phobias

Additionally, I enjoy working with individuals in the Helping field (i.e., Other Therapists, Medical Providers, Safety Workers, Teachers) as well as people whose personalities tend to be geared to supporting others. Sometimes I have found that these (Helper) personalities can at times become involved in unhealthy relationships with others; Helpers may struggle with how to change these dynamics without negative repercussions like guilt, shame, or even fear of the loss of a relationship. Anxiety is a common symptom among this population.

Depending on your particular goals for treatment, I may utilize the following therapies:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Of course, just mentioning the names of these therapies can sound overwhelming if you aren't already familiar with how they can help treat various issues, including Anxiety. I am happy to further discuss with you how we can work together to meet your unique goals.

I am also in the process of creating several different groups for Anxiety, so please check the Groups page for upcoming meetings that may be helpful. If you are unsure as to which group may be best for your goals, please feel free to ask me. Also, if you have an idea for a group therapy topic, please let me know. I am always up for new ideas!
